What has everyone been playing during lockdown? we started a game of betrayal legacy weeks before lockdown and of course our group hasn't been able to play together since march, but we've had a lot of fun playing forgotten waters since it has a companion app so people can play together remotely

The game I have been playing the most with my family is Brass. Then we have also played a lot of Lords of Waterdeep and 7 Wonders.

I used to play lots of RPG games with my friends, but they are too unreliable to get them to play via audioconference or any other online platforms.

That does indeed suck. I was sent home even before official lockdown and nowadays a trip to the grocery store is something to get excited about and bring your sunglasses and bucket and spade for

yeah that's the problem, I only live with my wife so it's either 2 player games or games which can be played over some sort of video chat.

So for us that's been forgotten waters, automobiles, animal upon animal, galaxy trucker, and evolution. the latter two kind of count as even though I own the actual games we've been playing them multiplayer over the phone version to include our friends, although 2 friends annoyingly don't have a phone so we generally go back to forgotten waters to include everyone.

It's only in the past year that I've really had to discover the 2-player modes of the games i have, and some of the 2-player variant rules are really just downright hacky at best, just to get that 2-p icon on the box ----------------------

Yeah, I have noticed that myself too.

Sometimes, the 2 player variant is better than the main variant, or at least novel enough to be its own cool thing.

Cyclades comes to mind. The two player variant has each player try to bribe two greekl gods at once so there is a lot of double guessing involved. Are you familiar with that game?

Here's an interesting idea - are there any multinode, concurrent BBS
door games? I know the legacy games are turns-based, wondered if any
games could be played concurrently. That might be a fun (and socially
    distant) past-time.

IIRC, MarisaG has one or two set up. I think you can play Conquest against someone from remote.

    MarisaG???

Yes I have quite a few and would love to get more players for Conquest. Also check out my Empire & Imperium games. More info about those at https://empiredirectory.net and conquest is https://conquest.gameplayer.club - Suggest you go to amigacity.xyz to see all the doors I have installed and that can be downloaded....

I do a lot of Battletech with my son and for x-mas we purchased a shared gift to play with called Bloodbowl.
But we ended up painting figures first and the whole skirmish is still kind of parked.

Well, those games are to be enjoyed preparing them more than playing them :-P

It is a problem Warhammer developed. In order to deploy a playable army you needed a truckoad of miniatures, which you had to mount and paint. It was a lot of work and not everybody was willing to put it in.
