    Hello Rob Mccart!

I watched the 'talk' that Trump had with the president of Ukraine, Zelenskyy and, if it had been me, I'd have called Trump an asshole

    [...]

Another a-hole is the one who asked Z "why don't you wear a
suit.. as a sign of respect.. etc".

What's wrong with dressing professional? If I dressed like Zelensky and went to a job interview they'd laugh at me.

    Hello Kurt Weiske!

Another a-hole is the one who asked Z "why don't you wear
a suit.. as a sign of respect.. etc".

Seeing as Musk ran a meeting over Trump in the oval office
looking like someone whose luggage had been lost...

    Good observation.

Zelensky was clearly "attacked". But I like his response "I
will wear a costume when there is peace.., maybe a suit that is
    better than yours.. maybe cheaper."

Zelensky is no slouch when it comes to wit, but his visit was
weighed by the serious burden of his country and people under
attack - I could imagine that humour and levity would be hard
to maintain at all times. But Vance and Trump were
    disrespectful pricks in this situation.

Yeah, especially since that same ahole has probably never asked Elon the
    same question.

I think the whole process was just to use any excuse to make Z look
bad or unprofessional since they were basically trying to rip him
off blind in any agreements they made.

I see the promised Tariffs on Canada are starting tomorrow. Seems
Trump has moved on from 'making the borders more secure' as the
reason for them to now trying to force all the auto makers in Canada
    to move to the USA.

We are coming back at him with 25% tariffs on $155 Billion dollars
worth of American goods that come into Canada. Unless those goods
stop flowing that is nearly $40 Billion in tariffs our gov't will
collect, closing in on $1000 for every man, woman and child in the
country. Begs the question, where will all that money go? Although
they are saying they will use it here to shore up our economy until
we can adapt the the new situation.. or wait out Trumps term if they
don't toss him out of office before that.

According to a news conference today with the Governor of New York,
she'd much rather see Trump gone than this happening. She is well
aware of how much this thing will cost the people in her state..

Two things stuck out at me - When Zelenskyy said, in pretty good English
that if you don't deal with Russia in Ukraine, you'll deal with them at
your doorstep, and it felt like Trump saw that as an opening to distort
that and go on the offensive, saying "You don't tell me what to do".
That seemed like an intentional escalation, not a misunderstanding.

Secondly, when Trump described Zelenskyy's strategy as "not good
business", it rang hollow. Governing a people is *not* a business.

And, the Down Jones average is down almost 1000 points in the last few
days leading up to the tariffs. Interesting, planning your stock-killing
political move on the day of your State of the Union address.

"Bold move, Cotton, let's see how it plays out for 'em..."

It would be funny if our country wasn't in the balance.

I think the phrase T used was "don't tell me how we FEEL".

Yeah.. T is primarily in business mode, so not surprised he
uses business jargon. The "cards in your hands" one is a bit
ridiculous, and Z picked up on that when he said "I'm not
    playing cards!"

Yes, I caught that too although it was said quietly. Although I
think the worst of it was Trump accusing Z of it being his own
fault.. Right.. If he'd just surrendered when the Russians first
crossed the border it would have saved a lot of countries a lot of
money, but he would have kept going and eventually Europe would run
out of countries for him to take over and he'd have moved on to
probably Canada next to give him a good base to attack the USA from.

And World War 3 is the lesser problem. If we gang up on Putin and
he is losing badly, I doubt he would hesitate to use Nukes..
