Isolated Washington enclave Point Roberts seeks help amid US-Canada tariff crisis
SOURCE: KOMO News
Almost five years to the day since COVID shut down the US-Canadian border, Tamra Hansen stands inside her Saltwater Cafe in Point Roberts worried about the future again.
"I fear these are going to be worse times than the pandemic," said Hansen,
who successfully navigated the turbulent months after the spring of 2020, kept the cafe open, and even opened another restaurant in this unusual American exclave.
But now, Hansen told KOMO News, "I'm down 55% in February." It is part of
the
reason you can see the bumper sticker on her door that she's also selling inside noting that "Point Roberts supports Canada."

Like Minnesota's Northwest Angle, Port Roberts is connected to mainland
North America by a connection through Canada only.
