"When it became known that Hillary Clinton was using an unofficial email server, the Republicans used that point time and time again for about 5 to 10 years to smear her. Tens of millions of dollars were spent to investigate this, to investigate it again and to bring it all to court and committees once more. Nothing was too crazy.

Now the Republicans are the guilty ones.

State secret conversations were sent over an unauthorized chat provider. Worse, they had accidentally invited a well-known journalist into that chat group.

In a very stupid way, all agreements on secure communication were trampled on. NONE of the senior officials questioned whether this was allowed, even though most of them were very clear at the time about how Clinton should be punished. Resignation was the very least.
Years in prison were also the least they could do.

    And now?

Now the core of the Trump administration is fully and demonstrably guilty of the same crime.

    All resign?"

The Atlantic is no friend of the Trump administration, so it looks like it was an accident. But what Hillary did was no accident, so we only need to lock her up.

Honestly, I still think Clinton should have gotten in trouble. I also
think that Biden and Trump should have been in trouble for mishandling documents, and now I think the persons involved in setting up this chat on
an insecure provider... and inviting an outsider... should be in trouble.

Each time I look at what these folks have done and thought that, if it were
me, I would be fired and/or in jail for what they did. The same should
    apply to them.

    Someone should be held accountable.

Yes, I agree. Whoever invited the guy from the newspaper needs to be fired. Trump should make an example of whoever did that. I want him to say:

Sorry but the attack timeline and the airplanes to be used were both classified. The name of the undercover CIA operative (which the Atlantic reporter removed from what he revealed) was very much classified.

If this was the Biden or Obama admin, we would be letting them have it. If publishing those times or that name would have got someone from our side killed, we'd be letting them have it.

But because they are Trump appointees, we buy the "not classified" line and look the other way.

Moreover, Hillary did this intentionally whereas the Republicans did this unintentionally...

This is only partially true. Both Hillary (with her personal, non-goverment server) and these Republicans (using a non-government communication
channel) *intentionally* used non-government resources to conduct
    government business.

You don't *unintentionally* start an official communication via an
unofficial channel, and you certainly don't *continue* to do so once you realize your "accident."

The messages were *intentionally* set by Waltz to expire after a short time period, which means no "paper trail" to trace back in case something goes wrong. At least one of the officials on the chain admitted that he couldn't access it real time because he didn't have his "personal phone" with him... meaning he is doing official government business on his personal phone.

The fact that it got leaked was the ONLY unintentional part. Thank goodness
it did or we'd soon have no record of it.

Event might have been an intentional Deep State setup?? More than likely...

    Complete BS.

I worry that Trump has too much pride to fire one of his own appointees, but he needs to realize that everybody makes mistakes, and in this case, it would be a mistake not to fire somebody who has sabotaged the administration.

That last bit... the name of the covert operative... is 100% classified.

Basically, the arguement of yours and every other MAGA is that none of it
is classified, which means you believe it could have been broadcast in
advance on TV, radio, etc., and it would be completely OK. That is where
    it breaks down completely.

Michael Waltz is a female with ties to Obama? Then why did Trump appoint him/her? (S)He is, after all, the one who invited Goldberg into the chat.

Trump is not a national security expert. They were using Signal, which is
not to be installed on government devices, meaning they were using their personal phones, which is a no-no for government information... classified, sensitive, or otherwise.

When she first took office, Gabbard fired a bunch of people for using
Signal (or another such app) for government business so she should know
    better.
