President Trump has blamed Zelensky for the high price of diesel in the US. He apparently momentarily forgot Biden’s name, since Biden usually gets the blame for everything.

But this time it is Zelensky, because the Ukrainians are destroying Russian refineries. The situation has become so dire that Russia now has to import diesel, whereas it used to be the largest producer.

How Zelensky manages to pull this off—without holding a strong hand and receiving virtually no help from the US—is a mystery. Wasn't the US supposed to be so important?

Trump’s son-in-law has indicated that peace cannot yet be signed because Ukraine is being obstructive. The Ukrainians refuse to yield to the Russians and, according to Jared Kushner, are the reason the US (read: he himself) cannot currently strike highly lucrative deals with Russia.

Putin is demanding the entire Donbas region, and—oddly enough—the Ukrainians are unwilling to go along with that.

It is abundantly clear which side of the table the American negotiators have been sitting on. Unfortunately, there is absolutely no point in having the Americans sit between the Russians and the Ukrainians. Sadly, Ukraine will have to keep fighting its way through the war until the Russians give up.
