    You should be able to use most HD's I remember going through this installing arca on a thinkpad, I wish I could remember the exact route
    I did it, its either wipe the drive with gparted and make
    no partition and let arca handle it or make a single
    partition with gparted and do not format it. Shoot I am
    sorry I cannot remember but Arca is picky and unless you
    have some crazy HD almost all should work its just how you
    present it to the installer.

    I've probably not wiped the drives correctly as they had FreeBSD on them
    which does interesting things to the drives. I need to set up a workbench
    in my bedroom where I can test these things but I've got to move some things around to do that.

    It's not a huge deal with the drives as I use DFSee which works great and I also have a System Rescue (Arch Linux) USB stick that comes in very handy.
