Ghastly overly wide-angle rushing (low altitude ?) swoops.

Missed the well-thought-out, even artistic, helo shots we are used to.

Helicopters are hideously expensive per hour to operate, during
practices, quallies, and races. The impact of rapidly and persistently escalating JET-A prices has only amplified costs.

Cable-cams have been used along the pit straight for years, and in
stadium events for a decade before that.

Liberty's production cost cutting will undoubtedly continue to eliminate
as much union scale camera and related video production labor as possible.

    Welcome to the penny-pinching spectacle.

    Yup!

If you knew what you were looking for, you can see my little aluminum
    trailer and blue pop-up.

There's another video they did that I couldn't find that shows a couple
of seconds of the open wheel group headed for either practice or
qualifying (or perhaps being released after a black flag; it was 9 years
ago), but I remember having a discussion and it was decided that it
would be best not to fly over us after that; it being one thing to have
a drone hit your windshield if it should fall and quite another to be
    hit in the helmet.

There are also some pretty cool videos that the created by editing
together video taken by static cameras placed around the track to create
and after-the-fact "television broadcast" of a race.
