We have just watched Jamie Chadwick advance to her certain third world championship in the W series, with a 70-point lead so far.
By the end of the 2021 season, she was already untouchable and the
racing world saw it. No offers.
She is winning race after race against good rivals (one of whom was
rejected by sponsors despite winning a Formula Renault championship). Chadwick's driving is like Prost's: smooth and professional on and off
track. She had not planned to contest a third W season in 2022, but no
other series offered support.
Jamie Chadwick deserves better.
So, I just looked at the F2 series and wondered, How does one succeed?
Well, there's Mick Schumacher. He moved up into F1 after winning only
TWO RACES out of 24 in his F2 season.
How does one succeed? Winning races and championships do not appear to
count for much --- if you are a woman.

Can you please put 'spoiler' and the series you're talking about in the subject? That's the second
time that you've given me results for W Series before I've had a chance to watch it.
Thanks.

Thanks. I'm in New Zealand so these races are on overnight for me and I don't watch them live. It
was a big weekend for single seaters (F1, F2, Indy double-header and W Series) so I watch them as I
can.
I tend to watch F1 first,
then the others in the order that I'm likely to see / hear spoilers for.--
As there are 2 NZ drivers in each of F2 and Indycar locals tend to talk about those first so I
watch them ASAP. So this weekend it was about 24 hours before I got to watch W Series. I made the
mistake of checking the group after the F1 but before W Series (while my tea was brewing).
Cheers,

If I don't watch the races live, I will always watch them in the order they were scheduled. Too
many times in the F1 build up or in the race, they say things about events in F2 and/or F3 (and now
W-Series as it is scheduled with F1) that would be spoilers had I not already seen the race.
Cheers

I stopped watching the build-up and after race stuff a while back -
about the same time I started watching so many different series.
The older I get the more I realise how short life is. ;)

Fortunately easy to avoid-a 'streamed' - either watch live, or click thru the first hour of shite, after the fact.
BTW do you realise SparkSport is less that $20 per month ?

The F1TV Pro subscription is only $80 a year, so less than $4 per race.

Likewise with build up (take it or leave it if I have nothing else to
do) but I do like a bit of post race analysis and find the current crop
of drivers (and team principals) noticeably more engaging and open in
their post race discourse.
Odd. I used to watch pre- and post-race analysis and interviews but think that these days it's too
stage-managed. There seems to be very little in the way of candid comments from drivers. It seems
that, in these days of 'Drive to Survive', all of the drivers and teams are more cognisant of
managing their public image.
