Robert Lewandowski for the men, Lucy Bronze for the women

Klopp and the Dutch women's trainer won the coaches, so Flick didn't make it, which I think for 2020 is outrageous.

Neuer won for the men's goalie (I got in right when this part ended).
For the Bayern ones, this might be more contestable than Flick for trainer.

H-M Son won the Puskas award for a solo run and shot of over 70m through traffic, at maximum speed. All the candidates were very impressive.

If you name is Bronze, you should never be better than third.

They didn't even nominate this one from the Danish cup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9D6QMif9mxQ

Speaking of said cup, great round this week, with both FC Kobenhavn
and Brondby going out. The latter to second division Fremad Amager.
All followed by a perfect draw for the QF.

I think it was scored after they announced the 2020 candidates, so it may be a candidate for 2021?

Deadline was October 7, 2020. Goals scored after that date are eligible for the 2021 award.

So why don't they make the deadline December 31, and only have goals scored in 2021 eligible for the 2021 award? Does it really take that much intelligence to think of that?

Hmm... could it possibly be that this way they can announce the winner in a glittering end-of-year ceremony, that gets more engagement, sponsor money, etc.? Nobody cares about awards in mid-February (well, I guess movie buffs do...)

Or Kimmich's from the Dortmund match. Lots of choices.

Do you notice a strong England bias in all that, though?
